Galerie56, an innovative and experimental TriBeCa gallery at the intersection of art, culture, and design, is thrilled to present “Les Enfants Terribles”. The exhibition celebrates the “holy terrors” of 20th-century design in France. “Les Enfants Terribles” features the work of talented architects, decorators, and artists—Jean Royère, Serge Mouille, and Alexandre Noll to name a few—who shaped the transformative design movement between the second half of the 1920s and the end of the 1950s with their avant-garde thinking and unorthodox approaches.

Curated by Galerie56 owner and AD100 member Lee F. Mindel FAIA of multidisciplinary firm SheltonMindel, the exhibition marks the first collaboration with Paris-based architectural icon and antique dealer Jacques Lacoste of Galerie Jacques Lacoste. While the exhibition's title refers to the novel published by Jean Cocteau in 1929, which was made into a film in 1950, it also pertains to Mindel and Lacoste’s shared love for design and innovative translations of traditions that have defined their legacies.

“Les Enfants Terribles” will be on view until April 19th. Galerie56 is located on 240 Church Street New York, NY and is open Monday-Friday 10am-6pm.
